Gems at the Smithsonian

Earlier this month, I was in Washington D.C. and had the opportunity to visit the rocks and minerals exhibit at the Smithsonian Natural History Museum.  Of course, like everyone else, I checked out the Hope Diamond.  But I also meandered through the rock and gem part of the museum and snapped a few pictures of exhibits that I knew my dad (a.k.a. Ron) would have spent a long time in front of. Here's some of what I saw.
